Call for applications: ASSITEJ SA Theatre4Youth Gauteng Co-ordinator
The Gauteng Theatre4Youth Co-ordinator would be responsible for running the Theatre4Youth project in Gauteng, as well as connecting to theatre companies in neighbouring provinces. Tasks include creating synergies between theatre companies and schools, mentoring young companies in making work for young audiences, and ensuring that children and young people have access to theatre in Gauteng and neighbouring provinces. They would monitor the success of theatrical projects, and report to funders where necessary. They would be responsible for running workshops, forums and other events for artists, networking with people across the industry, and organising tours to schools and creches.
We are looking for an energetic, driven and passionate person, with a background in theatre and education/child or youth programmes, who has the following attributes:

Excellent interpersonal relationship skills;
Capacity and willingness to learn;
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
Ability to network successfully;
Capacity to mentor others with empathy and patience.
