Unwind, Socialize And Feed Your Your Soul With Good Music

Popular Port Elizabeth based disk jockey Sam Jennings will be hosting the one year anniversary of her Sam Jam Session events. The events are known for drawing in large crowds of music lovers. The anniversary edition will take place 8 September 2018 at the Roof Garden Bar.

The art of the balancing act is something that Samantha has mastered. She has a nine to five corporate job but is also able to play at the finest events that are hosted in Port Elizabeth. This has catapulted her to becoming one of the leading female disk jockeys in the Nelson Mandela Bay. This is quite a feat as the local music industry is male-dominated but “Miss Jay” as she is affectionately known can hold her own against her male counterparts.

The need for the Sam Jam Session events grew after Samantha Jennings wanted to provide a platform where music lovers in the Bay could enjoy music sessions whilst enjoying a few drinks and enjoying the scenery of the venue where the events are held. The events are intended to celebrate the local musical talent that we have ranging from visual artists, local musicians and disk jockeys who specialize in various genres such as afro soul, hip hop, jazz, reggae, funk, pop etc.

The events have been providing quality entertainment to the part of the population of the Bay that enjoys soulful music. Sam Jam Sessions Vol 6 brings a twist in that it will be celebrating music from the 70s, 80s and 90s only. It was music from this era that influenced Miss Jay’s passion in soulful music. The event will also be celebrating her love for hip-hop bringing forth a lineup of only local Port Elizabeth hip hop artists. These artists are winners from “Miss Jay’s Cypher”; a competition held in 2016 for the “One Africa Arts Festival”. This period was also the official comeback of Miss Jay back into the world of deejaying and music entertainment.

The future holds many promises for the Sam Jam session events which include potentially hosting the events across different cities all over the country. The possibility of potential collaborations with national and international artists is also on the cards for the talented disk jockey who has won the hearts of music lovers in the Bay.
